The Piedmont East Bay Children's Choir lost a dear friend, Ray Perman, on February 4, 2017. Ray was an important part of the choir for many years and received the 2014 Founders Award. He was inspired by music: playing and supporting it. He stayed involved with the choir till the end, even bringing a van of percussion instruments to camp the summer before his passing.

Donations in honor of Ray can be sent to the Founders Fund in Memory of Ray Perman. The fund will support some of Ray's passions including scholarships and the choirs international activities.

The Judi Fabrizio Scholarship Fund

Judi Fabrizio retired from working in the PEBCC office  in 2016.  After almost 17 years with the Piedmont Choirs, Judi was the “face” of the choir, the “voice” for Member Services, not to mention the uniform coordinator par excellence, Judi cannot be replaced and is greatly missed.  She has touched everyone with whom she has worked, and offered fairness and wisdom to all of our choir families over these many years.

True to Judi’s spirit, she asked that those who might wish to honor her, do so by contributing to the Judi Fabrizio Scholarship Fund established to create and provide scholarships for children in need who participate in the Choir programs and, thus, to offer them a positively life-changing experience through music.

The Nick Hartono Memorial Fund

Re-Launched in honor of the 11th Golden Gate International Children’s and Youth Choral Festival - 2018

Nick Hartono was a beloved member of the Piedmont East Bay Children’s Choir from 1986 until his untimely passing in 1993 at the age of 13. He traveled with the Choir to England and Wales, and participated in the very first Golden Gate Festival in 1991. Nick, known for his enthusiasm, kindness, and passion for international culture and connection, was a vibrant, energetic young man who loved to sing.

In honor of the upcoming 2018 Festival, we wanted to honor Nick’s life, his spirit, and his dedication to breaking down cultural boundaries through song.

The Nick Hartono Memorial Fund, established and supported by Nick’s parents—Carmen and John Hartono—will provide financial support for the 11th Golden Gate International Children’s and Youth Choral Festival.
