2013 Ecco Tour to Seattle

Tour Dates: 

June 20 – 24, 2013

Ecco will be touring to the city of Seattle to collaborate with the Columbia Youth Choirs, with whom they sang last summer at the Golden Gate Festival. Highlights of the tour will include working with outstanding conductor Steve Stevens, Artistic Director of the Columbia Youth Choirs, and longtime friend of PEBCC, performing a joint concert with CYC in a historic Seattle venue, joining in the Sunday morning service at St. Mark's Cathedral, sightseeing in the Seattle area, including Pike Place Market, The Experience Music Project, the Underground Seattle Tour, the Space Needle and rooting for our home team at a Seattle Mariners/Oakland A’s baseball game.

We Head Home

On Monday morning we all enjoyed a leisurely breakfast (the waffles were particularly popular) and then got ourselves packed up. From the hotel we headed to the airport, discovered our flight was delayed by three hours because the people IN SEATTLE couldn't handle the weather IN SAN FRANCISCO (what?!?) so we did all the usual things people do to kill time in the airport. I saw card games, group perusal of Cosmo and Seventeen magazine, and even some sight reading. We eventually boarded the airplane and had an uneventful trip back to grey and gloomy SF. St. Mark's

The singers showed up at the hotel on Sunday morning with all their luggage and dressed to impress in their Sunday best. Once the bags were stashed in the chaperones’ rooms, we set off for St. Mark’s Cathedral in the Queen Ann district of Seattle. St. Mark’s is known affectionately in Seattle as “The Holy Box” because the space is both beautiful and sparse in its construction. Read more... about St. Mark's

Saturday was our big tourist day in Seattle, and we did it with style.

Safe And Sound But Not So Dry

Hi Ecco Tour Blog Readers!

Tour started at 9am this morning with joyful greetings and packing comparisons and ended with children meeting their homestays and heading off to a home-cooked meal.  Here's what happened in between:

We had a relatively uneventful time getting the kids ticketed and through security which left sufficient time at the gate for a little last-minute food shopping and socializing.
