Day Fourteen - Homeward Bound

July 7, 2014

I awoke this morning with the sweet melody that was the theme song of the festival ringing through my head, and I am sure I wasn't the only one.  The event that took place over the last three days, in addition to all the great friends and experiences that were had over the last two weeks, was something that we will never forget.

The end of a two week adventure such as this evokes a lot of emotions.  Between exhaustion, some frustration, being excited about going home, or not really wanting to leave, the kids were able to pull it together and make their 6:30 am ferry call, (yes, it has been a LONG day of travel).

These last two weeks have been nothing but bliss, and it is hard realizing that by the end of today, we will be back at home, back to reality...

Just realizing that these kids are coming home that much more enriched from these two weeks away is something that words can't even describe.  Very humbling to be a part of something of that magnitude.

There really is nothing more special than what these 46 young musicians and 7 chaperones experienced and accomplished together over the last two weeks.  Sad to go home for sure.

As 2014 Finland and Estonia tour blogger, I would like to thank you all for reading the blog and keeping up with our day to day, ins and outs.  It was a pleasure spending two weeks with your very talented children who have so much to offer.  I would also like to thank you for your support and for providing them the opportunity to be a part of such an amazing group.

As for now, it's home we go, back to our busy lives... however each one of your kids will have lots and lots of stories to tell, and memories to keep alive in their minds.

Thanks again, so much.

Sincerely,
