Virtual Ensemble Camp Day Four
This morning we woke our bodies up together with some yoga, led by counselor Emily. Spirit Day today was UpsidedownAndBackwards, InsideOut, and BacksideFront Day! We had some lovely innovations in how to wear a hood upside down, and in how to use your Zoom screen to look as though you’re hanging off the ceiling! Our most spirited cabin today was Bobcat, with Owl hot at their heels.
We began the process of choosing student leadership for this year’s choir. Students were asked to reflect on their community members who had every choir member’s best interest at heart, who had organizational skills, and who would be comfortable representing the choirs in public and international settings.
Our warmups were led by Teresa today, who helped us connect with our breath. In fact, we were breathing so effusively and impressively that unofficial counselor Kizmet the Dog became concerned and decided to make an appearance!
The afternoon saw a continuation of the game Encore, and an evolution of the rules to be even more challenging. Your kids know SO MUCH MUSIC, it is impressive. We literally spent hours singing to each other, sharing old choir pictures, and playing with slime together.
Deer leads us in points at 315, followed by Fox with 305, Bobcat with 280, and Owl with 260.
