Virtual Ensemble Camp Day One
Virtual Choir Camp is off to a great start! Singers arrived promptly at 9 am to hear announcements, have their wacky hair judged, and sing happy birthday to our dearest Amba before they were “apparated” into theory class. The winner of today’s spirit day, House Deer, earned 10 points towards the House Cup, while House Bobcat came in a close second, earning 5 points. The judges loved the creativity of all the wacky hairdos and are excited to see what spirit campers will bring to the rest of camp.
Theory was followed by a group warm-up led by the revered Dr. Storm, who arrived today fully robed and hatted in true Hogwarts fashion. After theory, campers headed to rehearsal rotations, lunch break, and voice lessons/afternoon activities which included a chill arts and crafts room, and a game room filled with games such as Madlibs, Mafia, Encore, and “Name that song”.
Currently, House Deer is leading with the most house points (100!!) Fox is in second place with 80 points, Bobcat comes in third at 75 points and Owl follows close behind with 70 points. But not to worry!! Singers still have the entire rest of camp to earn house points in hopes of winning the esteemed House Cup at the end of camp.
Tomorrow’s spirit day is…. Color Day!!!!! Woohoo!!
The art’s and crafts activity will be… pet rocks!!
Alternative afternoon activities will include… more fun games, Harry Potter talk, maybe story time?? Who Knows! Stop by to find out :)
It is truly such a wonderful thing to be able to participate in choir camp during such crazy times- I, for one, am greatly looking forward to hearing more music and spending more time with all these amazing and talented singers.
