Day #12: All Together Now!

After another breakfast with their homestays, the singers’ morning started with a bus ride to a nearby town called Mosbach!

Filled with gorgeous houses, cobblestones, fruit and flower stands, the town was the perfect place for the singers to explore and shop. We even attended the brilliant concert of a balalaika ensemble called Exprompt!

The singers then returned to their homestays for lunch and free time. We heard anecdotes of ponies, pools, card games, flower crowns, orchard tours, and more!

Their afternoon rehearsal was challenging because they had to adapt to the new stone acoustics of Notburgakirche, the main church in Hochhausen. Nevertheless, at 6pm, the seats of the small church were filled with town members eager to watch their concert. With Eric accompanying grandly on the organ, and a spontaneously requested sing-along encore, many singers came out the other end proudly calling it their best concert yet!

Post-concert dinner was hosted by the Beer and Culture Society of Hochhausen, and the menu was roasted wild boar with a side of veggies, bread, and hand-picked cherries. We celebrated our successful concert, sang our farewell, and headed back to our homestays to go to sleep early to prepare for another busy day tomorrow!
