Day 6: Mothman, Mexican food, and mini golf!

It’s our bittersweet last day of the tour! Singers had a lovely final breakfast with their new friends, and spent the morning packing and saying our goodbyes to everyone here.

We boarded the bus to Columbus to catch our flight, but stopped halfway for lunch in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. This town is famous for being the first sighting place of the Mothman, a cryptid in West Virginian folklore reportedly seen in the Point Pleasant area from November 15, 1966, to December 15, 1967. The source of the legend is believed to have originated from sightings of out-of-migration sandhill cranes or herons which can have a wingspan of six to seven feet! We ate rice, beans and yummy burritos at a local authentic mexican restaurant and sang country roads to thank the resauraunt staff for feeding our large group. Many enjoyed shopping at the Mothman gift shop, taking pictures with the big Mothman statue in the center of town, playing mothman mini golf, and exploring the riverfront.

We continued our bus ride to Columbus to board our first flight. We ate cheese and pepperoni pizza in the airport terminal before boarding our first flight to Phoenix, AZ. Many singers (and chaperones) slept through the first flight, while others chatted and played card games. Mignon decided to work on her theory book on the plane ride!

After a very brisk power walk through the airport, we boarded our second flight to Oakland! We made it home safe and sound - We are so proud of all our singers have accomplished :)
