2020 WINTER NEWSLETTER - A Message from the Interim Executive Director

PEBCC is a very exciting place! There are always many concerts and collaborations being planned and of course, we are very involved in finalizing plans for a fun and educational summer program with tours and camp. We hope your choristers can fully participate in many of these activities. The office staff includes people specializing in different aspects of making sure everything runs smoothly. Here is a little key to their jobs:

Heather Saulnier- our communications and marketing expert who also manages the logistics for the training department

Alice Del Simone- our tours and camp expert who also manages the logistics for the performing department and provides voice instruction

Beth Hooper- our registration guru who also helps us secure grants and run the gala

Eric Tuan- our fabulous Artistic Director and Ensemble and Ecco conductor who keep us all inspired and works closely with our talented faculty of music and voice experts

Martin Hodge- our finance wizard who maintains all our accounting books and ensures our funds are secured and flowing into our operations

What does Beth Schecter do? Well, the Executive Director works closely with the Board of Directors to ensure important legal and financial obligations are met and everyone (Board and staff) are clear about their roles and responsibilities. Be sure to check the website for all 11 members of our Board and thank them for their service when you see them dropping off their children or attending performances. Keeping the entire team focused and engaged is critical and also hearing from our community of stakeholders is important so we can do the best job possible.

That is why I will be holding a special Parent Listening Session/Town Hall Meeting on March 24th, 5:30 pm at the Piedmont Center for Performing Arts. Please join me for an hour of conversation and input. We will not solve problems at this session but we will be very interested in what you have to say. More information to follow.

We are also beginning to plan for the 12th Golden Gate Festival taking place on July 11- 17, 2021, next year. Many choirs around the world have been contacted and we are pleased that responses are starting to roll in. More on that soon!

Thank you for your continued support of the PEBCC and your dedication to exemplary music training and education for your children. I enjoy hearing from parents, so please feel free to contact me at any time. bschecter@piedmontchoirs.org.
