2019 FALL NEWSLETTER - TRAINING DEPARTMENT IS HAPPENING!

Registration is officially closed for our Training Department. The singers are deep into learning their new songs. Even though we are still in Fall, the kids are shivering as they sing Winter themed repertoire. Music is a beautiful language and learning to read dots, sticks, and curlicues that then transition into traditional musical notation brings the art of music into focus. As in the Kodály method, this training starts in play and then graduates to the higher levels of learning as the singers mature bringing the heart and soul together with the mind.

Our first combined rehearsal took place last week giving all the singers a chance to meet their mentees and mentors for the year. This system of buddying up the singers allows for a community fostering support and confidence as our singers grow into mature choir participants. We are all looking forward to the Recitals in December and the Winter Concert in January where they sing in individual choirs and together as one!
