Marina Zubareva
Marina Zubareva is a choir girl at heart and a passionate music and musical theater director of her TK-5 music students at the Albany School District. She holds a Masters in Kodály Music Education with a Vocal Pedagogy Certificate from Holy Names University in Oakland where she had the honor of learning from an international faculty (Maree Hennessey, Ildigo Salgado, Laszlow Nemes, Eric Howe and Shauna Falihee). She returned to Holy Names to receive her Music Credential with Social Justice Emphasis in 2022. Marina previously taught for Starland Music and the Oakland Youth Chorus, where she built in and after school programming in East Oakland, Alameda and North Richmond.
As a child, Marina studied music in St.Petersburg, Russia and after immigrating to the Bay Area joined SF Girls Chorus. This was the foundation for a life-long pursuit of musical connection across continents, ages, and cultures. When not creating choral connections, Marina enjoys embroidery, painting, baking and spending time with her family both human and furry.
