Day 5: Homeward Bound!
The last day of tour has been bittersweet! While we are sad that tour is over, it's been a wonderful experience and every day included opportunities to learn, bond, and make beautiful music. Today, after packing our suitcases, we all walked from our hotel to Pike Place Market for breakfast. After yesterday morning, Concert Choir was familiar with the market and was excited to try spots that they didn't get to try before. After breakfast, the singers were given some time to walk around the market and shop for food and souvenirs. The fog even cleared up halfway through the morning, and we had blue skies while walking around the market. Everyone had the opportunity to buy lunch from the market as well, and we ate outside in the sunshine.
After our time at Pike Place, we walked over to Pioneer Square. While there, we took "Beneath the Streets" walking tours of parts of the old underground city of Seattle. The singers had a great time learning about the fascinating history of Seattle while walking around the corridors hidden underneath the sidewalks that we have walked on for the past few days!
After the tours, we walked to a local pizza restaurant where we had an early goodbye dinner in preparation for our flight. The "food crew" of Concert Choir singers did an exceptional job of distributing pizza and salad to the group!
After our dinner, we walked to our hotel, grabbed our suitcases, and the wonderful Concert Choir "luggage crew" did a great job of loading our luggage onto the bus. We are now at the airport, and the singers are doing a closing circle before our flight departs. It's been a truly lovely tour, and we are excited for all the memories that the singers will cherish from the past several days. Until next time!
