Day 1 - First Day for Ecco Camp & New Voices!
What a wonderful first day! Campers arrived amidst the morning fog, excited to sing together in-person. Ecco campers Anna and Owen actually biked to camp on E-Bikes! After checking in, campers received their choir binder with music that they will learn over the week and got acquainted with each other. Ecco singers started their camp experience by singing Homeward bound together, then rehearsed some Estonian lullabies and a challenging vocal jazz arrangement of “Over the Rainbow.” Ecco campers played a game of “BANG!” and spent some time just chatting before another rehearsal.
New Voices campers met Ms. Anne and counselor Nate before beginning the day with rehearsal of “Give Me a Kite” and “Waly Waly.” They also played some musical games like Aroostacha and the Bad Jokes Song, did some coloring pages and theory, and made colorful nametags so they could learn each other’s names before ending the day with more rehearsal. Check out our dropbox linked below for videos and photos of all they fun they had!
Ecco campers also have virtual camp in the afternoon. Campers had their first voice lesson of the week as well as their first theory class. One class learned to conduct an Estonian lullaby they sang earlier in the day, and the other was introduced to the Wonderful World of Chords. Counselor Grace also led a virtual came of Codenames on Zoom. We had a great first day and can’t wait for the rest of the week!
