Day 2 - Foggy hikes and fun with bubbles
Campers returned for the second day of camp excited for more singing and spending time with friends! The spirit day today was Spooky Day, and the chilly fog swirling around added to the spooky ambience during rehearsal.
Ecco worked hard on “Factus est repente," and then went on a hike led by a docent from Chabot! They learned about the history, climate, and wildlife of Chabot and the surrounding area. They saw the county line between Alameda and Contra Costa counties and went to the top of Redwood Peak before coming back to work on the Estonian lullabies they’re learning. New Voices will be taking a similar hike later this week.
New Voices worked more on “Give Me a Kite” during rehearsals, and in between had a lot of fun playing with bubbles and drawing with chalk! Camper Violet spent part of her free time singing, and told us she wanted to learn the song quickly so she could perform it for her family at home.
In the afternoon, Ecco had theory class and voice lessons again, plus many games of Gartic Phone and more Codenames! We can’t wait to return to camp tomorrow for even more music-making and fun. Check out the link below for videos and photos of all the fun we had today.
