After a long 24-hours of travel, we have finally made it to Denmark!
SFO - FRA was a lovely lesson in eating and sleeping when you can. While it was a long flight in the air, we made it to Frankfurt, Germany without a hitch. After clearing customs (maneuvering 50 bodies through a very busy airport), we made it to our next gate.
Then, unfortunately, our flight out of Frankfurt was a bit delayed. However, it did give singers the opportunity to grab some food and walk around a bit.
Our Frankfurt to Hamburg hopper was a short, sweet one-hour flight.
Once we arrived in Hamburg, our bags took almost as long as the flight to arrive out of the baggage claim (kids will lay down anywhere that’s flat). But finally, we had our bags and were off to the bus for our 3.5 hour drive to Herning, Denmark!
Though the bus had problems with the air conditioning, these kids proved their tenacity. They napped, enjoyed the gorgeous view out the window, and of course– serenaded themselves. Eric even indulged the kids at the back of the bus with a dramatic read aloud!
Once we were freed from the double-decker furnace, we were greeted by our friendly Danish hosts waving their red flags for us. The singers performed a welcome song before departing with their hosts for the night!
