Day #5: Music and laughter are universal languages.

Some of our singers with their homestays and yummy Danish bread on a stick!

As we oldies (the chaperones) decided, today felt like one of our very own Ensemble tours.

The singers had free time last night and an extended morning with their homestays - some made s’mores, had movie nights, swam in lakes, or even went to trampoline parks. When we finally gathered at 2pm to prepare for our Herning concert, smiles and fun stories were being shared around.

At 4pm we had our joint concert with Midtvest Pigekor at Valgmenighedskirke (church). It’s a stunning church with amazing acoustics and all the singers sounded top-notch. Here’s a small look at their joint-piece Hymn to Freedom. Look for additional concert videos in the Dropbox!

After our concert, we walked over to another church’s multipurpose building and had a giant potluck with the host families. It was a lovely evening filled with amazing food and laughter. The singers even broke away at one point and began teaching each other fun dancing games in the courtyard.

All in all, it was a perfect choir tour day and evening.

Tomorrow the choristers have a full day with their homestays so there won’t be a formal post. However, we’ll be hard at work on the bus to Hamburg on Monday, so prepare for a big post then!
