Day 10: Missing Moustaches and Running Pickles

Campers awoke to a mysterious foggy morning. Breakfast burritos, fruit, and cereal awaited us in the dining hall. After eating our fill, we headed to warmups with voice teacher Alice leading. Ecco led an impromptu rendition of Homeward Bound.

Singers once again dispersed to musicianship classes in order to improve their sightreading and rhythm skills. Eric’s class saw turkeys out the window who were bobbing their heads in time to the music they were singing! (see picture)

After a lunch of scrumptious tacos and salad, campers gathered outside for beloved spirit day: “Dress like a Staff Member.” Staff members represented included a legion of Maddys, a preponderance of Seths, an abundance of Erics, and a pack of Kizmets. Ecco won the spirit day competition by dressing as many eras of Eric, inspired by the Eric Tuan Fan Club Instagram page.

This evening’s recital again featured campers— Kailamae, Keanna, Maeve, Keira, Ela, Veda all sang solos, and Andrew, Avi, and Daniel sang “The Water is Wide” together.

After dinner, Ecco rehearsed “Amazing Grace” before joining Ensemble to perform pieces for each other. Concert Choir continued to work on “I’ve Been to Haarlem.”

Tonight’s activity was “Surprise #3”, aka “Staff No Talent Night.” The campers enjoyed watching their counselors be silly and goofy as they performed fan-favorite skits such as Not My Hands, “We like watching birds,” and “Take Me Out to the Ball Game.” The campers also laughed heartily at new sketches such as “Soundboard,” Otamatone Karaoke, and Choir Camp Storytime. The activity ended with a mad-libs rendition of “Sing All Ye Joyful.” As campers headed to bed for a good night’s sleep, Ember declared, “This was the best night ever!”
