Day 4 - Shopping and Concert in Viborg

Sue woke up to the mystical sounds of a cat bird/bird cat that was just outside her hotel window. Be sure when she returns to the United States to have her imitate the unmistakable bird-call. Meow-ka-ka!

After a normal joint rehearsal in the morning, filled with tales of Legoland, treasures purchased, wind surfing and picking fresh strawberries, the choirs boarded busses and headed for Viborg. We stopped midway on the bus ride to enjoy a picnic near a fantastically beautiful lake for lunch. Overlooking the lake, once we had finished eating our home stays homemade sandwiches, yogurt, smoothies, lasagna or fruit, most singers went to play on the play structures in the park or chat with each other wandering around and seeing the views of nature. After a restful lunch break and picnic, Danes and American's alike played "The Pony Game"-a true pastime that all can enjoy, including Bob and Dorte!

After boarding the busses again and heading to the church, we all wandered, shopped or saw another part of the lake near Viborg. Some of us bought Danish flags, while others just window shopped or bought ice cream and relaxed.

Following the break in the afternoon, we rehearsed in the great acoustic space of the church with Midtvest. Everyone seemed to love singing in the church because it had the right amount of reverberation and let the singers use the space throughout the church for staging purposes. We then enjoyed more delicious Danish sandwiches, with hearty bread, chicken, bacon, pineapple, egg, and gloriousness! We seemed to fight to get the most cookies and fruit- "hmmmm watermelon" says Ariel M.

After a captivating and double standing ovation, singers piled into the busses and headed home with smiles.
