Day 3: Friendship Concert and Sunshine

Day 3! We started the day off with another wonderful breakfast from Chef Gene, with breakfast burritos and orange juice. After packing up the rooms and loading the bus, we traveled to First Congregational Church to perform in their Sunday service. The singers performed Sound the Trumpet and No Time during, and Oye and Loch Lomond followed the service. The congregation was a big fan of the choir, even giving a standing ovation!

After the performance, the singers had a quick rehearsal in the sanctuary before we headed to the Holy Cross Church where we met Columbia Choirs. We had a lovely picnic/potluck on the grass outside the church, and the singers had an opportunity to mingle and connect with the choristers from the other groups. Check the link below for a video of the raucous game of Pony that broke out.

The second performance of the day went very well and involved the majority of the repertoire from the year! It was great to be able to watch the older Columbia Choirs perform and reconnect with their Artistic Director and PEBCC Alum, Katrina Turman. Concert choir received high praise for this performance as well, and after taking a group photo with Columbia, we boarded the bus to head to our next hotel.

After a long day of performing, we decided to take it easy in the hotel tonight with some food delivered to the rooms and some relaxation time. Goodnight!
